Because it is known for its beautiful homes and as a recreational destination, Lake Burton is primarily used for recreational boating, but fishermen and their boats are also welcome.

Free boat launching facilities are available at Moccasin Creek State Park located on Highway 197 North as well as at the Murray Cove Boat Ramp located on Murray Cove Road. For a fee, boats can be launched at two private marinas located at LaPrades Marina on Highway 197 North and at Timpson Cove Marina located on Charlie Mountain Road, also known as the Anchorage Boat Dock.

The Murray Cove boat ramp provides lake access year round.

Boat Rentals are available to rent at Anchorage Marine and LaPrades Marina. It is important to stress that you should rent your boat well in advance of your arrival. Ski boats and jet skis are only advertised as being available at Anchorage Marine. Young Harris Water Sports offers a variety of very nice boats, including ski boats and jet skis, which they will deliver to the Lake. In any event, call ahead to confirm rates and availability.

You can fuel your boat at either the Anchorage Boat Dock or LaPrades Marina.
