Fishing

You can make it as complicated as you want to, but there’s nothing wrong with fishing right off of the shore or a dock.

The Crestview Store on US 76 on the way into Clayton has always offered a good variety of lures that, because these folks are local, should help you catch the most fish! But, there is a Walmart in Clayton just in case.

Live bait is available at either the Anchorage Boat Dock or LaPrades directly on the Lake.

If you are not too concerned about the challenge of the sport and want to offer the kids some fun (and have something special for dinner), there is always Andy’s Trout Farm in Dillard Georgia.

Here’s a list provided by the State of Georgia of what to fish for and how to catch it. We are not sure that this is too fair to the fish.

We are also told that, if you are willing to excerpt yourself enough, there is bountiful trout fishing available in the streams north of and surrounding the Lake.

Anglers, 16 – 64 years of age are required to have a current Georgia fishing license in their possession while fishing. Anglers who are 65 years of age or older may fish with the Senior (65+) Lifetime License.
