On the Lake

In addition to just plain relaxing and enjoying the fresh air and taking a swim, there is much to do right on the Lake.

Boating

If you own a boat, ramp access is available at several points around the Lake. Otherwise, boats can be rented at several locations. Making your reservations well in advance is recommended.

Cruising Lake Burton and its many coves is a breathtaking experience. It is a pristine environment with rock seawalls, beautiful homes and boat houses of infinite variety.

Activities include skiing, wakeboarding and tubing.

Fishing

Lake Burton offers a wide variety of fish including spotted largemouth and striper bass. Bream or bluegills and perch are easily caught off the shore or your boat dock.

Eating

The best food on the Lake can be had at the Bleu Canoe Restaurant. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but they offer great food and an open bar. We include it here even though it is not actually directly on the Lake. You will best use your car to get there.

The only formal dining on the Lake is Murphy’s Chophouse at LaPrade’s Marina which also offers hamburgers, barbecue, catfish and others less expensive cuisine at the  Hawg Wild BBQ and Catfish House. The Anchorage Boat Dock also offers hamburgers and hot dogs.

Moccasin Creek State Park

Moccasin Creek State Park offers a variety of activities for all member of the family. This is the location of the trout hatchery where trout of all sizes can be observed. There is recreational fishing from a bridge over a lovely stream that enters the Lake at this point. Church services are scheduled here on Sunday mornings. Check the schedule in advance.
